Bergen County Mosquito Control will be in Paramus on Thursday August 15th between the hours of 4AM-6AM to larvicide and aduliticde the highlighted area in an effort to reduce and eliminate mosquitoes. Larviciding specifically targets the larval stages of a mosquito, which will prevent them from evolving into adult, biting mosquitoes. The material that will be used in our larvicide is VectoBac WDG, which was the first bacterial larvicide to complete the World Health Organization Pesticide Evaluation Scheme. VectoBac WDG is environmentally friendly and will cause no harm to people, pets, butterflies, plants/vegetables and bees/insects. We will also include Vectolex WDG. The sprays affect larvae, mosquito larvae and blackfly larvae. They are not known to kill any other aquatic insects. Aduliticde targets active, biting adult mosquitoes. The aduliticde material being used is called Duet. BCMC will spray via truck. Please keep your windows closed and your pets indoors during the operation in addition to the following 2 hours after. Please keep in mind that this operation depends on the weather conditions and it may be postponed due to rain.
