Dear Paramus Resident:
This is a friendly reminder that pet licenses expire on June 30, 2023 for all cats and dogs. Please complete the pet license application and return it to us with a check or money order payable to the Paramus Health Department by June 30, 2023. Please mark envelope “Attention Dog/Cat License.” Also, if you have a cat or dog, you cannot put both animals on the same application. Instead, download the application at www.paramusborough.org/159/Dog-Cat-Licensing, or pick up an additional application at the Health Department.
Certificate of rabies vaccination must be provided in accordance with New Jersey State Law and will be returned to you with your license. If you no longer have a pet, please submit the online form at ParamusHealth.org/PetLicense.
For a 1-year license, the vaccination must not expire before April 30, 2024. For a 3-year license, the vaccination must not expire before April 30, 2026. If it expires before these dates, you will need to have your pet revaccinated before a license can be obtained.
It is important to be aware that rabies is still present in wild animals in Bergen County. It is therefore vital that all cats and dogs be vaccinated and licensed.
BE SURE TO ENCLOSE:
1. A fee of $12.00 for pets that have been spayed or neutered and $15.00 for a non-neutered or
non-spayed pet for a 1-year license.
2. A fee of $30.00 for pets that have been spayed or neutered and $40.00 for a non-neutered or
non-spayed pet for a 3-year license.
3. Proof of rabies vaccination.
4. A check payable to the PARAMUS HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Department at the above number.
Sincerely,
Joanna Adamiak
Health Officer/Director
