FREE SKIN CANCER SCREENING FOR PARAMUS RESIDENTS & EMPLOYEES
Research has shown that 80% of all skin cancers could be prevented by using protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Staying in the shade from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., wearing a hat and covering as much skin as possible will reduce the risk of skin cancer later in life.
A free skin cancer screening for pool members, staff and residents of Paramus, sponsored by the Paramus Board of Health, will be held on Wednesday, July 11th from 1:00 to 2:45 pm at the Paramus Municipal Pool. One of the Advanced Practice Nurses from Advanced Laser & Skin Cancer Center in Teaneck, New Jersey will perform the screenings.
Information about sun, safety and skin cancer will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions and to have any sun damaged skin examined.
Residents of Paramus who are not members of the pool, are asked to wear a bathing suit or shorts and a short sleeved top to the pool, if they wish to be screened. For questions, call 201-265-2100, Ext. 2308 or 2307. Have a safe summer!
